HARTMAN WALSH

8X 22’X50’ CUSTOM BUILDINGS FOR 12’ DIA. HYDRO PIPELINE (BC HYDRO).

HARTMAN WALSH

LOCATION: Courtney, British Columbia, Canada
BUILDING SIZE: (x8) 22’x50’
APPLICATION: 12’ dia. Hydro pipeline coverage

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

Hartman Walsh came to GNB with a unique situation where they had to cover an existing pipeline but still allow enough room for their team to perform blasting and re-coating of the line. Some of the obstacles GNB had to overcome in the design phase were to provide a building lightweight enough to be pushed down the right of way on HD wheel assemblies using only ATV’s as space did not permit the use of larger equipment.

We then had to make sure the structure was rugged enough and engineered to be crane lifted in and out of place at multiple points down the line. Third, we had to make sure that the buildings’ conformed and were engineered to BC and National Building Code standards. Lastly, we had to make sure that the design took into account the diameter of the line as well as added side wall fabric to create a barrier to ensure blast media and paint were contained during the removal process and to allow for access/egress to ensure fire code was met throughout the process.

Put all that together and you have the above buildings that encompassed the vision of the client and performed extremely well in the field. G&B dispatched a crew to work along-side Hartman Walsh employees for the installation of all structures.

At G&B we listen and we invest the time upfront to really understand the vision of our clients. We then get to work with our “die hard” attitude and work ethic to deliver structures that can perform in any environment or application.
