Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will provide direction to the production floor personnel, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training, and address maintenance issues. The position will oversee and assist with the daily plant operations, including process and procedure improvement activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a quality product is consistently produced
  • Follow and give instructions
  • Ensure all daily setup, changeover, quality, and tool inspections are completed
  • Ensure the proper processes are followed in the creation of the fabric blocks
  • Provide guidance and direction to the production floor personnel
  • Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnel
  • Communicate clear expectations to production personnel, keep them informed of matters pertaining to their job, and develop personnel growth opportunities
  • Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations
  • Maintain material/workflow throughout the facility
  • Ensure material handlers supply the workstations with material quickly and efficiently
  • Monitor and enforce safety policies
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times by educating and directing personnel
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required
  • Ensure all stations are producing product to the company’s quality standards
  • Continuously evaluate and modify the plant layout and material workflow for increased throughput and productivity
  • Monitor and enforce work start, break and stop times of the production floor personnel
  • Monitor tidiness of the workstations and machines
  • Coordinate cleanups where necessary
  • Attend and participate in regular production meetings
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities
  • Address conflicts of interest and provide solutions Lead the production floor personnel and maintain a positive work atmosphere
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
  • Position report to and works closely with the Production Manager
  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Encourage fellow employees to work safely and to report hazardous or unsafe conditions immediately to their Supervisors
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including wearing all required PPE

 

Requirement:

  • Two (2) years minimum of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing plant is preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean principals, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Industrial sewing and/or fabric welding are considered assets
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and management skills
  • Good training skills and knowledge
  • Able to read blueprints and part lists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments with little direction
  • Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Spanish speaking an asset
  • Ability to learn and give direction
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to produce quality products consistently
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot
  • Experience in fabric welding or sewing (Hot air, plastic, or polyethylene welding) is an asset

  • Use hand tools and power tools & work near mechanical parts

General Production Worker

GNB Global Inc. is accepting applications for general production workers in our fabric manufacturing plant in Rhome, Texas. On-the-job training will be provided for successful candidates.

Job duties will include:

  • Daily setup and tool inspection
  • Quality testing and inspections, daily and in-process
  • Create fabric blocks by rolling out, measuring, taping, cutting, and adding accessories to the completed covers
  • Folding and packaging according to instructions
  • Operate heavy machinery (training provided) to move completed covers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with little direction
  • Ability to produce quality products consistently
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of your ability
  • Follow all safety procedures and watch for the well-being of fellow workers
  • Operate all equipment safely and correctly to prevent injury or equipment damage
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
  • Attend and participate in regular production meetings
  • Listen attentively and use speaking skills to ask questions when expectations are not understood

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a garment worker or in the tent, canvas, or awning industry is beneficial
